How long does it take after I submit to hear back and meet with the pro?

Anywhere between 2-10 business days, depending on the schedule of the pro.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can connect with pros?

Yes. Every one of these professionals is active and working in the film industry for reputable companies.

Will I get representation if I connect with a literary representative? 

We’ve seen many screenwriters earn representation through this platform, but this does not guarantee that you will find the right match. Like any relationship, it takes chemistry and timing.

How do I know who to send my material to? 

Great question. Like any relationship, some thrive, and some don’t. All we can promise is that these are working professionals who want to forge working relationships. Not all relationships work out, so reach out at your discretion.

What does a producer do? 

A Producer is someone who champions a project from development to distribution and can take on a creative role and/or an administrative role in the production.

What does a manager do? 

A Manager represents talent/screenwriters/filmmakers to studios, networks, streamers and production companies. Manager also help screenwriters find agents. They charge an industry standard 15% commission. Today, there is plenty of overlap between Managers and Producers, and oftentimes professionals are both.

What does an agent do?

An Agent represents talent/screenwriters/filmmakers to studios, networks, streamers, and production companies, and charge and industry standard 10% commission. Unlike Managers, Agents are prohibited by law from also being Producers. What also differentiates Agents from Managers is that oftentimes agents will negotiate deals if the talent is repped by a Manager and Agent.

What is an option agreement?

An option agreement is a legal contract between a Producer and a Screenwriter that allows the Producer to exclusively shop the movie. This contract will specify the terms of the agreement, the length of the contract, and the agreed-upon sales price.
