How are scripts scored through Scriptmatix?
Scriptmatix uses an algorithmic scoring mechanism that takes the burden of subjective numerical scoring away from the reader. After reading the script, the reader follows a thought model with observations pertaining to a multitude of screenplay characteristics. These observations feed an algorithm and produce our scoring models. This method has been proven to minimize deviations in scoring amongst readers and provide a more “objective” basis for scoring, which we find paramount when running a fellowship or contest.
Is your screenplay analysis really objective?
It’s as objective as can be. However, we’re the first to tell you that analyzing any art form can NEVER be purely objective. What our analysis provides is a model for readers/analysts to interpret the material with far greater depth and precision. So while we can minimize deviations in scoring with this method and create a consensus regarding the execution of a script, this does not mean we never see outliers.
If I win, am I under any obligation to Scriptmatix if I sell, option, or get signed with a company?
No. Your work and your talent is completely under your control. You are under no obligation to Scriptmatix.
How long does it take after I submit to receive an analysis?
If it’s expedited, you should receive it within two business days. If not, it can take up to 20 business days.
Is there a limit to the number of times I can submit?
No. You can submit as many times as you want.
Who are your readers and how do you ensure their quality?
Our Scriptmatix readers are scouted heavily and trained rigorously. We also have oversight measures in the company to make sure analysts/readers are performing their duties to standard. They have all avid film & TV consumers, and have their finger on the pulse of what is hot in the market now. We also take weekly meetings with all our analysts/readers to discuss the scripts they have read.
Will I get representation if I win a meeting with a literary representative?
We only facilitate the meeting but we do not guarantee the outcomes.
