Do I need to pay to join the Challenge?
The 14-Day First Draft Challenge is included free with any active Scriptmatix plan during this launch. Join on any plan, get enrolled automatically, and cancel anytime.
What exactly am I getting when I join?
You’re getting access to the live 14-Day First Draft Challenge, the private Writer’s Room, live Q&A sessions with Mikhael, and the Scriptmatix Story Engine tools and Revision Toolkit included in your plan. The challenge is the structure. Scriptmatix is the platform you’ll use to complete it.
Is this for beginners, or only experienced screenwriters?
Both. If you’re new, the challenge gives you structure so you’re not guessing your way through a first draft. If you’re experienced, it gives you a faster, more disciplined workflow to go from idea to pages with support.
How much time should I expect to spend each day?
Plan for 45–90 minutes per day, depending on your pace and where you are in the process. Some writers will move faster, some slower. The goal is steady momentum every day for 14 days. If you fall behind, no worries, the sessions are recorded and you can always catch up on your own time.Â
Can I really write a full draft in 14 days?
Yes. Our system is built to help you move fast. Many first-timers finish drafts in under two weeks when they follow the plan. And experienced writers testify that there is a speed and quality upgrade to their first drafts.
What if I’ve never finished a screenplay before?
That’s exactly who this challenge is built for. Most writers don’t struggle because they lack ideas, they struggle because they lack a process. This gives you one.
What if I don’t finish in 14 days?
You’ll still keep your progress, your materials, and everything you created inside Scriptmatix. The 14 days are there to create momentum and help you finish faster, not to punish you if life gets in the way. If you fall behind, the sessions are recorded so you can catch up at your own pace.
Do I keep my draft and story materials after the Challenge?
Yes. Your script, outline, treatment, and story materials are yours. Scriptmatix is a tool to help you develop them — it does not take ownership of your work.
Is this live, or can I do it on my own schedule?
The cohort is live, which means you’ll have a shared start date, live sessions, and real-time community support. But the sessions are recorded and the daily writing work can be done on your own schedule each day.
What makes this different from other writing software?
Most writing software gives you a blank page and formatting. Scriptmatix is built to help you develop the story itself (premise, treatment, outline, draft, and revision) with guidance, structure, and creative tools that help you move faster without losing your voice.
Is this “AI writes your script for you”?
No. Scriptmatix is not built to replace the writer. It’s built to support your process, helping you clarify story, build structure, generate momentum, and revise faster while keeping your voice at the center. While it can be used to generate mindlessly, the software was not engineered with this intention.
Will my screenplay still sound like me?
Yes. The goal of Story Engine and the Revision Toolkit is to help you develop and strengthen your draft, not flatten your voice. You stay in control of the creative decisions.
What happens after I join?
As soon as you subscribe, you’ll be enrolled automatically. You’ll receive an email with your private challenge invite, next steps, and details for accessing the Writer’s Room and live sessions.
How many seats are actually available?
Only 50 founding seats are available for this live cohort so we can keep the experience personal and hands-on. Once those seats are filled, registration for the Founding 50 closes.
What do Founding 50 members get that others don’t?

What is the Fellowship submission waiver?
Writers who complete the 14-Day Challenge will receive a waiver for the Scriptmatix Fellowship submission. Full details will be shared inside the cohort.
Can I cancel my subscription after joining?
Yes. You can cancel anytime. Your subscription simply needs to be active to participate in the challenge and access the platform features included with your plan.
Which plan should I choose?
We highly recommend the Writer Plan for TV or Feature screenplay writers. If you plan to write a single short, you may be okay on a Starter Plan. If you want more tools, more projects, or higher-priority access, upgrade to the plan that matches your workflow.
Is this only for feature screenplays?
No. The challenge is designed around core screenplay development principles (premise, treatment, outline, and draft) which can support a range of narrative projects. Check the plan details if you’re writing in a specific format.
What if I already have an idea, outline, or partial draft?
That’s fine. You don’t need to start from zero. You can use the challenge to sharpen your concept, rebuild your structure, or finally turn an unfinished project into a complete first draft.
Do I need Final Draft or any other software?
No additional software is required to participate in the challenge. You’ll use Scriptmatix for the workflow and tools included with your plan.
Is the Writer’s Room private?
Yes. The Writer’s Room is a private community space for challenge participants to ask questions, get support, and stay accountable during the sprint.
How hands-on will Mikhael be?
Mikhael will lead the kickoff, host live Q&A sessions, and guide the cohort throughout the challenge. The experience is designed to be more personal and interactive than a standard self-serve software signup.
What happens if the Founding 50 fills up?
Once the Founding 50 is full, we’ll close founding-seat registration. Depending on availability, you may be able to join a waitlist or access Scriptmatix outside the live founding cohort.
