Created to recognize the next generation of screenwriters and filmmakers, the Scriptmatix Student Filmmaker Spotlight is a student screenplay contest that gives emerging creators a chance to place their work in front of industry professionals, receive meaningful recognition, and take an early step toward a professional career.
This season, that spotlight belongs to Vienna Skinnell.
“Delicate” Wins the Scriptmatix Student Filmmaker Spotlight II
Vienna Skinnell has been named the winner of the Scriptmatix Student Filmmaker Spotlight II for her screenplay, “Delicate.”
The story follows the daughter of a renowned wine mogul who discovers a major scam inside her family’s wine business.
Rather than look away, she begins investigating the crime herself.
The deeper she searches, the more she is forced to confront the cost of family loyalty, the meaning of “good wine,” and the dark machinery behind her father’s empire.
Its wine-industry setting gives the story a distinct world, while its central investigation creates a clear dramatic engine. As the protagonist moves deeper into the family business, every discovery threatens more than an empire. It threatens her relationship with the people who built it.
